Guru asked Yudhishtar to go around the kingdom and get the list of bad people. Guru asked Dhuryodhan also to go around the kingdom and get the list of good people.
Guess what? Both returned with empty lists. Neither Yudhishtar found a single bad person nor Dhuryodhan found a single good person in the same kingdom.
It is the eye with which you see a fellow being that makes you identify him as good and bad.
A good heart increases your ability to see the pains and agonies in the people around you. Bhagavad Ramanujacharya was blessed with such a good heart that he could not take the pain of anyone around him. He understood the feelings of a person without having to be explicitly stated. He gave away the greatest secrets and the best of the knowledge as soon as he discovered that it will help people alleviate from miseries. He came forward to help everyone’s socio-economic status by enriching their knowledge levels and worked towards giving opportunities to grow.
Several leaders such as Martin Luther King, Nelson Madela, Abhrahim Lincoln had good hearts that enabled them to see pains of their communities and lifted them up.
Bhagavad Ramanujacharya looked upon everyone as equal in the Eyes of Lord and therefore everyone deserved the best.
Gurus such as Ramanujacharya maintain their purity while still living in this egotistic world. They bless us with good virtues and uplift us to greater extents. They act as magnets. If an iron piece is connected to the magnet, it will begin to possess the abilities of the magnet. Similarly as long we are connected to such Gurus, our abilities to do good work, to serve the world will increase.
Let us rise to the occasion of remembering such an inspiring Guru and take part in completing our project, Statue of Equality as a token of gratitude for HIS benevolence!
