Anantha saras, SriPerumbudur is the divine place that brought Anantha, i.e. Adisesha in the form of Sri Ramanujacharya to the world

Kalyana saras, Kanchipuram is the divine place that gave Ramanujacharya as Yathiswara to the world

Viraja theertham, SriRangam, the divine place that bestowed us with Ramanujacharya’s grace and supported the spread of his message

Kaveri theertham, the divine place that held within it Lord Rangantha, the One which made all the above possible and pious

Have you ever taken or heard of theertham (water offered in service of the Lord)? Some take it everyday after completing aradhana, a devotion driven serving of God. Some take it at temples. Some take it occasionally after a guided prayer. It is these four sacred water sources that our Elders invite into the water that they offer to Lord in service…

What a great divine way to transport ourselves mentally to these four places of worship every morning…

Lord instructed Ramanujacharya to spread the path of devotion, light up the lamp of bhakthi that sheds away maaya vaada, theory of illusion. That is why, the four water sources are those that are connected to Sri Ramanujacharya…

As part of the final celebrations of Samatha Kumbh 2024, meditating upon these four sacred water sources and inviting them into the water used in Lord’s service, Sudarsana perumal is given a celestial bath at Viraja Pushkarini. Viraja Pushkarini is the name given to a specially designed pond at the Statue of Equality by the Elders. After Lord’s Sudarsana was given the bath, devotees joyfully went in and drenched themselves with the pious and powerful waters…
