ni:la: thunga sthanga giri thati: suptham udbo:dhya krushnam,
pa:ra:rtthyam svam sruthisatha sirassiddham adhya:payanthi: |
svo:chchishta:ya:m sraji nigalitham ya: bala:th kruthya bhunkthe:,
go:da:, thasyai nama idam idam bhu:ya e:va:sthu bhu:yaha ||

  • ya: go:da: = That Go:da: de:vi,
  • udbo:dhya = who woke up
  • krushnam = Lord krushna,
  • ni:la: thunga sthanga giri thati: suptham
  • suptham = who was sleeping blissfully
  • thunga-sthana-giri-thati: = on the lofty hillock like breasts
  • ni:la: = of Ni:la: de:vi,
  • adhya:payanthi: = and instructed Him
  • svam = about the Soul and God’s nature
  • pa:ra:rtthyam = which is altruism itself
  • sruthi-satha-siras-siddham
  • siddham = as established
  • sruthi-satha-siras = in all Upanishads, which are the essence of Vedas
  • bhunkthe: = and who enjoyed Him
  • bala:thkruthya = forcibly, through the intensity of her love
  • nigalitham = after binding Him
  • sraji = in a garland
  • svo:chchishta:ya:m = which was first worn by her.
  • thasyai = To such Go:da: de:vi,
  • idam, idam = this, this very
  • namaha = Prana:m, salutation
  • asthu = should happen
  • bhu:yaha, bhu:yaha, e:va = again and again.

  • chollu = Repeat Oh! my mind!
  • koduththa:lai = the divine name of Go:da, who offered
  • pu: ma:lai = a garland of flowers
  • arangarku = to Lord Rangana:ttha
  • su:di = after she adorned herself first.
  • a:nda:l = This Go:da De:vi
  • puduvai = of Srivillipuththu:r,
  • anna-vayal = wherein swans walk across the fields,
  • koduththa:l = offered
  • pa:di = by singing
  • nar-pa:-ma:lai = a beautiful garland of songs,
  • thiruppa:vai = called Thiruppa:vai,
  • inn-isaiya:l = in divine melody,
  • pal padiyam = with many verses
  • pannu = embedded with esoteric meaning.
