On February 5,2026, Vasanthotsavam of Divya Saketha Ramachandra took place. Vasanthotsavam is meant to provide relaxation to Perumal who was busy during the celebrations. This was done as per Agama Sastra.
The 39th chapter of Sri Prashna Samhitha, gives an explanation of the celebration. It stipulates that the celebration must take place during the waxing phase of Moon (Shukla Paksha) only. Agama books call it “Churnotsavam”. This Holi like celebration, Vasanthotsavam was enthusiastically celebrated by the priests and Vedic Gurukul students in the premises of Statue of Equality, after offering the prayers to Perumal. This is a ceremony intended to provide coolness and happiness to Perumal. 30th Sloka in 39th Chapter of Sri Prashna Samhita refers to the benefits that occur to the participants in this manner:
“Evam vasanta samaye saithya saurabhavasthubhi:
Bhagavatam pujayeth yaha sa yati mama mandiram’
Arrangements for distribution of Prasadam were made at the venue itself. After Perumal joyfully completed the boat ride, Sri Swamiji gave Mangalasasanams to all. It was an exemplary programme in the Samatha Kumbh.
Due to the lunar eclipse on March 3rd, darshan at the Statue of Equality will not be available.
Darshan will resume on March 4th from 3:00 PM onwards.
Devotees are kindly requested to cooperate.
